[Once he gets Vera's other message, about the time and place, he'll send those along. Then, at the appointed meeting time...]

[Dante will be there and waiting for her!

When he sees her, he'll stand up, making his way toward her (and probably meeting her halfway, who knows).]

Hey, Vera. Good to see you.

Your liver recovered from that party yet?

[Vera is wearing a short, white sundress that stops around the middle of her thigh, along with a floppy white hat that covers her pale blonde hair. When she spots Dante, her pace quickens until they've reached each other.]

Ugh, I never want to see booze ever again. I think my brain is still waterlogged.

[If only because the last couple of weeks have felt like a blur. Was this really her life?]

[It's funny that Dante knows so many people with good fashion sense when his own aesthetic falls somewhere more along the lines of "how much effort did I feel like putting in today?" Regardless though, he'll grin at her words, walking them the rest of the way back toward their table.]

Well, at least now you can say you've had the quintessential college experience, if nothing else.

[Getting almost blackout drunk and winding up with someone in bed with you the morning after? It's not Dante's favorite flavor--he prefers remembering his nights and knowing who he'll be waking up beside the next morning--but there's no denying it's the stereotypical experience.]

Still, it sounds to me like that talk the next day went well, considering I'm not allowed to call this a lunch date.

[Though the way his grin sharpens a bit may clue Vera in to the fact that there's more to that "complaint" than he's let on, if she's paying close enough attention.]

Oh shut up, like ladies don't swarm all over you anyway, Piano-boy.

[She flashes a grin to match, with a punch to the arm for his troubles.]

Besides, you looked like you were having some fun on your own that night.

Hey, keep it down! I don't exactly advertise the fact that I play. I've got a reputation around here, you know.

[Not that he means it one bit, as his expression should probably tell her.]

But yeah, you're right. I'm not complaining one bit. It was a good party.

Hey, at least you're not that douche who brings a guitar to the party. Piano is pretty unique.

[A laugh.] Maybe around the crowds I hang out with, it is. For our type-- [And here he gestures toward both Vera and himself.] --I think it's almost expected that you perform in some way.

[A smirk pulls at his lips--he's not about to let this get serious that fast.] Anyway, here's Wonderwall...

You're such an ass. [She says with a giggle.]

Go make yourself useful and find us a table.

Way ahead of you.

[Oh hey, look, it's the table he'd been sitting at before she got there! There are already a couple waters on the table, along with menu's. Dante's is flipped open already, but it doesn't seem like he's been here very long.]

Besides, you like that I'm an ass. [He's got that cocky grin on his face as they get themselves settled--of this, he's got no doubt. While he can be just as charming as the next rich kid, part of his own personal charm is his irreverence and snark (at least, it is in his opinion!).] Otherwise you wouldn't be here, right?

I could have sworn I tagged this...

[She smirks as she sits down at the table and grabbing one of the menus. Dante absolutely had a certain charm to him, and she'd might have fallen for it if he wasn't a gigantic dork at the same time.]

Who else is going to put up with us?

I don't know, you seem to have found someone willing to put up with you...

[He lowers his menu enough that she can see his grin.]

How'd things wind up going that morning, anyways?

[And that grin causes Vera to raise her own menu to hide her embarrassment.]

We... slept until noon, ordered pizza, and spent the day in bed. It would have been wonderful if we both weren't so sick.

[Dante manages to keep from laughing, but the laughter is in his eyes as he turns his attention back to his menu for a moment. However, when he speaks, his voice is more neutral than Vera might be expecting.]

That sounds like a pretty good day to me. And then I'm guessing the two of you talked things over and decided to give it a shot?

I may have... kissed her, when she asked me out, yes.

[darkinferno]

[That grin on his face isn't going anywhere. He'll have to tell Vic congratulations--he hadn't been positive whether she was going to take his not-so-subtle hint or not.]

Well, well, well. Looks like the lady got her girl.

Congratulations.

[If she was drinking, she'd have spat just now. Did she really need to be congratulated for getting shitfaced and waking up with the woman she did body shots off of? Is that something that really deserves praise?]

I-it's not like I expected it to happen. We just had some fun at a party...

[OBVIOUSLY SHE DOES, it's life experience! Besides, is she telling him that there was nothing there before they were doing shots that night...?]

Well, sure. But most people don't go from...

[He pauses, noting the waiter approaching them. This isn't exactly the sort of thing they want people overhearing...

But once they've placed their orders and the waiter has retreated, he leans in, dropping his voice.]

Not that I'm insinuating you did anything last night, but most people don't turn their one-night stands into significant others.

[She'll hide her embarrassment long enough to give her order, looking the tiniest bit concerned when the waiter takes her menu away. How is she supposed to hide now?]

Trust me, the only things we did that night are puke and pass out. It wasn't very magical.

[She takes a sip of water to clear her throat.]

She took me home, because she was worried about me. She took care of me, helped me change my clothes, and stayed to make sure I would be okay through the night. And she wasn't in the best shape either.

So she does all that while feeling like shit, having seen me at my absolute, vomit-covered worst, and still asks me out the next morning? How do you say no to that?

You don't.

[Dante sits back in his chair, his grin softening into something that's not his normal, cocky expression.]

Someone like that... that's a friend you keep by your side.

[In spite of all the parties he's gone to and all the times he's stumbled home wasted, he hasn't had too many of those. Most of the people that come home with him--or that he goes home with!--aren't interested in babysitting or taking care of other people. Sure, they'll help you with your clothes, but beyond that...]

Did you two know each other before the party? You seemed pretty close, but that could've been the alcohol talking.

Or in your bed, as the case may be.

[Which sounds a lot worse than it was. They didn't do anything, she swears!]

We haven't known each other long, we met at the start of the semester. She actually bumped into me on my way out of the library, books everywhere. It was a mess.

[She takes a long sip of her water.]

God, I was such a bitch to her. I think I almost made her cry. What does she even see in me?

It's hard to fight the smile that threatens--he's never really seen Vera's bitchy side so far, but at the same time, considering how she can get sometimes even when she's teasing and playing around, he can see the situation as she describes it.]

That's something you'll have to ask her. But apparently she sees something in you besides the rich heiress, so that's a start, right?

[She traces her finger around the edge of her glass, watching the top of the water shake as she does.]

Should I just... ask her? I mean, that's not exactly a romantic question.
