[She takes a sip of her drink.]

Two of my friends are dead and I might never see my team again.

[ ah... shit, that's terrible. . . ]

My condolences.

[ what else can he say about this?! ]

[She sighs, setting her drink on the table and resting her hands on her knees.]

Thanks. I don't need you to feel sorry for me or anything, but I just wanted you to understand what I'm going through if I'm ever acting weird.

[bropane]

Is-- [ he bites his lip. he barely knows weiss, so is it right to ask?

better risk it. ] --there a reason why you can't see your team anymore?

It's kind of a long story, but...

[She leans back in her throne-chair.]

Beacon was home to a network tower that allowed the countries to communicate with one another across vast distances. Kind of like the CEREvice here.

[AKA a cell phone.]

That tower was destroyed when the Grimm overran the school, causing the whole network to go down. No one can talk to each other anymore.

[bropane]

[ okay, a picture is slowly being formed, but that doesn't explain why she can't see rwby anymore. . . ]

And then what happened?

[heiroglyphs]

A lot, really.

[But that doesn't answer the question.]

We wound up fighting the people who started this mess. Blake got into trouble fighting someone and Yang went in to protect her and...

[She needs to take another sip of her tea. This is always the worst part.]

She lost an arm, Tadashi. She didn't stand a chance.

[bropane]

[ jesus christ-- that's. insane.

tadashi just sits there, mouth half open, not sure what to say anymore. he wants to comfort weiss, he really wants to, but at this point, he's not even sure if that's possible. and this is ever the optimist tadashi thinking it, too. ]

Now I understand Ruby's post a bit more.

Well, it's better to be alive with one arm than dead with two, I guess.

[Not that it makes anyone feel any better.]

But... we found Blake and Yang and managed to get them treated. We were ready to evacuate Beacon, but our friends Jaune and Pyrrha were nowhere to be found. Ruby and I offered to stay behind to find them, and we managed to track down Pyrrha, but... it was already too late.

Ruby watched it happen.

[She takes another sip, taking a moment to steady her hand. She hadn't realized she had started to shake.]

I don't know what happened after that. There was this light, then a bunch of the Grimm just stopped like they were frozen in time. It didn't stop everything but it was enough for us to get out of there.

After that, Ruby and Yang's uncle took them back home. My father did the same for me. Blake... ran off, somewhere. Maybe she was feeling guilty, I don't really know, but none of us know where she is.

[bropane]

[ he's noticed weiss has started to shake too, and he'd have offered to cup her hands in his, but she seems to have it under control now.

for now, his tea is on the table, and his fingers are entwined with each other. his shoulders are slumped as he looks at his feet.

it must have been—it must be so difficult. ]

I'm sorry.

[ because, really. that's all he can say right now. ]

I- [ a pause as he thinks his words carefully. ] hope things get resolved at some point.

[heiroglyphs]

Thanks. Me too.

[She takes a breath, covering her face with her free hand as she composes herself.]

And thanks for listening.

[ he stays quiet as he watches her, and even nods, when she's not looking. ]

You're welcome. [ a wry smile curls upon his lips. ] If you ever need somebody to talk to, I'm here, alright?

[heiroglyphs]

I appreciate it, really. I'm here for you, too.

[She's managed to calm down, but she's also finished her tea. The cup goes back onto the table before she sits up straight once again.]

Thanks.

[ he smiles genuinely at that comment. ]

I've met some great people here. You're one of them, Weiss.

I-I...

[She looks off to the side. Is she blushing? She might actually be blushing. That's not something she's heard very often.]

I try my best. It helps when I have someone like you to look up to.

[bropane]

[ heh... he really does try to be a good role model. he takes that as a compliment, more than anything else. ]

Well, just let me know when you want me out of your hair now. I can go any time - especially since you might have other plans.

I don't have anything I need to do.

I'm sure you're probably busy, though.

Gotta keep busy-- [ else he'll fall into depression of losing people he cares about. :) ] Try to do the same for me. It'll help you stop thinking about all that, even just for a little while.
